Is it “furry phone” or “fur i phone”? Probably “fury phone” based on the OS: Furios.

That out of the way here’s a few initial thoughts and issues:
- First this is really cool and it is an actual phone and no longer a homelab project.
- OK, it is still a bit of a project and some sharp edges.
- The first disappointment is it doesn’t have video out. Supposedly it does DisplayLink which is video over USB to special dock or monitor. NOT DisplayPort using special video lines on the USB-C. Feb2026 I have their dock on order
- Bluetooth keyboard and mouse just worked.
- Easily activated and used a Mint (Tmobile NVMO) SIM I got for testing. Alas Mint only does 4G.
- I bought the kit but the case doesn’t fit well on the sides and I got bubbles under the glass screen protector. It was brand new and I have done dozens of these and haven’t had this problem. Feb2026 Furi sent me new case. A little better but same problem.
- It took me way too long to figure out the shell user su password is the login PIN.
- Camera works. Nothing to brag about but apparently cameras are very difficult to get working on linux phones.
- Android apps work mostly although f droid doesn’t seem to have things like slack. Aurora does better.
- I don’t like that the main screen launcher doesn’t distinguish between native and android apps. Yeh,
